Haiti Earthquake Update
We thank you for your prayers and concern for the people of Haiti and for our staff and work there.
Plant With Purpose is not involved in immediate relief efforts at this time. It is outside of our expertise and at the moment our primary concern is still locating our own staff, board and beneficiaries and determining their welfare and that of their families. If you wish to make a donation to immediate relief in Haiti we recommend you do so through an agency with a professional disaster response capability such as World Vision, the American Red Cross or one of our Interaction colleagues.
We will certainly be involved in intermediate and long-term recovery efforts (already we are receiving reports of buildings destroyed in the area where we work) and would be thrilled by your contributions to that effort, which promises to be long and difficult. In the extremely unlikely event that there is no recovery necessary in the communities we serve, we will pass those funds on to a reputable agency involved in the greater Haitian recovery effort. Thank you so much.
Our hearts are heavy as we wait for news of our brothers and sisters in Haiti. As we learn more we will share it with you here on the blog. Thank you again for your prayers.
